WORST AREA IN SPAIN?

Some of my viewers have asked me to do a video on bad areas in Europe. They want to know if there are ghettos and slums in European countries. I think they do exist in Europe but not on the same scale and magnitude as in the USA.

Today we will explore an area near the Spanish capital of Madrid. The area has a bad reputation and is known for social-economical issues.

I think some parts of it look like the visual definition of a slum or a ghetto. But that's just a subjective first glance. In the end, it's a community. People are living here under difficult conditions. Children grow up here. And no matter the 'slums' or 'ghetto' label we might read in the news, our first task should be to prevent people from ending up in situations like these in the first place.

You tell me; what do you think of this area and how does it compare to the worst areas of for example Los Angeles and Detroit? And what would be a good starting point to give the children who grow up here a fair chance in life?
