We Built a $10,000 Subaru that BEAT A Lamborghini

We modified this old Subaru and made it THREE SECONDS faster than a Lamborghini for LESS than £15,000. We did everything from upgrading the brakes and tyres, to completely stripping the interior and turning up the boost.

Because we wanted to see if two normal guys, with no real mechanical experience and a small budget could really build a car that was capable of beating a supercar. We got some stuff right, we got some stuff VERY wrong - but here’s how it went.

We’ve been modifying this Subaru over the last 6 months to try and make it faster than a Lamborghini for £15,000. Now it’s finally time to see if it can be done.

Over the last 6 months, we’ve fitted an uprated clutch, a set of coilovers, some sticky semi slicks, stripped 136kg of weight, upgraded the brakes, fitted stiffer anti-roll bars and then finally we pushed the car from 196bhp to 304bhp. That means we’ve spent just £9065 of our budget INCLUDING the car.
