Thousands of Hong Kong tourists in Japan faced disruptions to their holiday plans as a “once-in-a-decade” blizzard ripped through the country, starting on January 24, 2023. Some tourists were briefly stranded at an airport, while others had to relocate to hotels away from coastal areas. Temperatures across the country are expected to drop to levels seen only once in 10 years, with heavy snowfall expected to continue through to January 26.
