The Toyota Corolla XRS in this generation corolla came with the 2AZ-FE 2.4L engine. While that engine is actually a great engine it did come with one issue from the factory. Oil Burning because of low tension rings and an issue with the design of the piston rings.

The 2AZ-FE issues are nothing new but most didn't know that this engine actually came in the corolla in this generation. If you are out looking for one avoid those that has this engine unless the campaign from Toyota has been done or you are ready to take care of the issue and consider it when buying the car
