Russia violates the international law: humanitarian organizations can’t reach Ukrainian POWs

More than 6,000 Ukrainian civilians have been killed since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Over 9.5 thousand were wounded. This is the data of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. The real figures are much higher, the UN emphasizes. The territories of Ukraine occupied by the Russian army remain outside the access zone of international humanitarian organizations. There are now more than 2 thousand Ukrainians in Russian captivity. Neither the Red Cross nor the UN can get to the prisoners due to the lack of security guarantees from the aggressor country, the coordinators say.
