If you ask a random person how many planets there are, the answer is often: "Eight". While it is true that our home planetary system has eight official members - this is only the tiny tip of the cosmic iceberg! So far, experts have succeeded in identifying some 5,000 exoplanets in more than 3,600 systems. While this search for alien worlds is always subject to the hope of one day tracking down a cosmic twin of Earth, the reality so far paints a very different picture. Many planets are bizarre celestial bodies that could not be more different from our earthly home. One exoplanet can be called unusual even in the squadron of these strange worlds: Super-Saturn J1407b. What we have learned so far about this grotesque celestial body, and which unusual exoplanets beyond that were discovered, we reveal to you in today's video!
