When choosing a firearm for concealed carry, there are more than a few things to consider. Common sense dictates that the smaller the firearm, the easier it’ll be to carry it concealed. People of relatively short stature would likely prefer to carry the smallest micro-compact pistol they can shoot comfortably, but if their lifestyle dictates them to wear thick, heavy clothing all the time, a full-size pistol chambered in 9mm may be a better option.
Similarly, common sense also dictates that a firearm’s price is a pretty good indicator of reliability -- but not all the time. With very few exceptions, the most expensive boutique firearms are often more reliable than run-of-the-mill models from big-name manufacturers like Glock, SIG, and Smith & Wesson, but the law of diminishing returns applies to firearms too. Depending on someone’s financial situation, some models may not be worth their MSRP no matter how reliable they may be.
With all that said, if you’re in the market for a good concealed carry piece and you don’t know where to start, what to look for, and what price you should be paying, how do you know which gun to carry?
