trying out my frankenbike off and on road. nice loop of varied terrain as a decent test.

the original 700c wheels were knackered and the only replacement wheels I had were 26" ones from old mountain bikes. as luck would have it, a 2.4" maxxis holy roller fitted beautifully on the front, but I had to buy a temporary tyre for the rear and at such short notice I could only get a 1.75". should be able to fit a 2" slick or maybe a 2.2" holy roller if the profile works well enough

anyway.....

roads - good but lots of rolling resistance
gravel tracks - excellent
charity lane climb - passable but difficult
charity lane descent - brutal
oven lane - top half felt good, a nice technical challenge, bottom half needed some walking. tech, loose rocky steps were too much for the bike and brakes.
bridleway from teggs nose - lots of fun, a good challenge
white Nancy bridleway - excellent
middlewood way - excellent
higher fence road - excellent
windmill park - not sure drop bars are great for pump track!
