The media in the US isn't doing the best job of explaining what's actually happening with Donald Trump - and the conservative media is either denying it or excusing it in between spreading conspiracies - but the international press understands the gravity of the situation. And they are absolutely freaking out. World leaders across the globe are worried that Trump gave up nuclear secrets, and that could put the entire planet at risk. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

All over American media, we are both sides. The story of what happened last Monday, down at Malaco, you've got the conservative outlets, calling it a raid, calling it an unprecedented move the weaponization of the department of justice against the former president, because they want to take out their political enemies. You've got more liberal outlets talking about the devastation of what could arise if Donald Trump did in fact have classified nuclear documents down there. You've got your centrist media trying to both sides it and saying, well, we don't know what's going on, but look beyond the borders of the United States and look how the foreign media is covering this. And you'll realize that not only are they covering it the way that it should be, but they're also terrified of the implications. Something that by the way is missing in most of the conversations that the American media is having here. So let's first take a look at the BBC, right? When Donald Trump's Florida home was searched earlier this week, it unleashed a political firestorm. Unlike anything in recent memory, the FBI took 11 sets of classified files in total, including four that were labeled top secret, three sets were classified as secret documents and three were confidential.
They also said it could cause a quote, exceptionally grave damage to us. National security, the Australian broadcasting corporation said Donald Trump's Margo was a nightmare environment for housing classified documents early in his presidency. He spontaneously gave highly classified information to Russia, his foreign minister about a planned Islamic state operation while he was in the oval office. Uh, so they're also like, Hey, let's not forget. This guy has a bad history of handling classified information. The Canadian broadcasting corporation, Trump under investigation for espionage act violations, FBI search warrant reveals us media speculated. They feared nuclear secrets could get out without urgent action. And then you have radio New Zealand who said FBI removed top secret documents from Trump's home. FBI agents took more than 30 items, including more than 20 boxes, binders and photos, a handwritten note, the executive grant of clemency for Trump's ally and longtime advisor, Roger Stone, numerous federal laws prohibit the mishandling classified material, including the espionage act, as well as another statute that prohibits the unauthorized removal and retention of classified documents or material. So you have these foreign outlets that apparently seem to understand us law better than actual American outlets, because not only are they saying, here's what they found, here's a big, long list. Some of them had here's the potential laws he could have broken in the United States. Oh, and by the way, he has a history of, of basically handing out state secrets to foreign countries.
Here's why they they're so terrified, not just because the national security threats
To the United States, but to the national security threats that they could now face, because we don't just have classified information about our own nuclear capabilities. We also have that same kind of information that we share with our allies. They have ours, we have theirs. So these countries, I believe are worried. What of our stuff was in there? Did you just put my country at risk? You incompetent buffoon down there at your golf course in south Florida. Did you have our secrets in here?
