Not Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, but his father, Joseph Chamberlain, a man who envisioned a way to save the British Empire from what he saw as its coming disintegration and collapse, and even sought to establish an alliance with Germany that would have prevented the outbreak of the Great War, and he pursued all this without even serving as Prime Minister!
