According to Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment Desmond Tan, Singapore has enough supply of chickens and there's no need to panic buy or hoard them. His assurances follow a decision by Malaysia to suspend the export of live poultry from June. NTUC FairPrice said it currently has four months' worth of frozen chicken supply, and another two months' worth coming in soon. Singapore currently imports a third of its chicken supply from Malaysia, and the rest from other countries including Australia, New Zealand, Brazil and the US.
