Model UNESCO is an educational event in which participants play the role of representatives of UNESCO Member States, simulating meetings that take place within the Organization.
Students participating in this simulation are introduced tothe work and purposes of UNESCO. They gain insight into international issues and how international politics works.The aim is to seek through negotiation, discussion, and debate solutions to various world problems: for example,human rights, economic development, environmental protection, disarmament, as well as more important issues such as war and peace.
Moderator of the event is Gulnara Galimzhanova, MSc in Education Leadership, Inclusive education, English language teacher, Global Perspectives and Project Work teacher, NIS Kokshetau.

The first session consists of two parts: video and presentation.
1) The first part is
the videos
of the participants. The videos are sent in advance and posted by the Organizing Team tothe website of the Kazakhstan National Federation of Clubsf or UNESCO. Therefore, this part is conducted ahead of the event, where the delegates will be able to watch each other's videos freely.
Duration of the video: maximum 1.5 minutes.
2) The second part is
the speeches
of the delegates which have to be accompanied by
presentations
(Power Point slides), which are also sent in advance.
Duration of the speech: maximum 5 minutes.
After the delegation finishes their speech, they are given the right to open the floor for questions, if there are any,from other delegates.
Duration of the Q&A: maximum 2 minutes.
Overall, each delegation is given 7 minutes to present themselves.
