Over the years, I've posted a lot of domino and machine videos. Almost 150, in fact. A lot of those videos I am proud of, and other ones I think are decent, but admittedly, there are a few videos on my channel that I really dislike. Out of all the videos on my channel, the one that's undoubtedly the worst in my eyes is Suggested Setup 4. (If you remember this vid, you're a true OG) Back in the old days of my channel, I used to use lots of risky hybrid tricks. Only problem with that is the fact that I never really tested any of those tricks at all, so they would always fail. And I would always refuse to reset when stuff failed, which resulted in most of my old videos having a lot of fails. And I mean A LOT. One of the best examples of this is Suggested Setup 4, a 300 domino setup with TEN FAILS. TEN. I was too lazy to reset anything, and that resulted in a video with a fail approximately every 10 dominoes. It was also built very sloppily and honestly doesn't look very good; the color combos are a bit all over the place and it really bugs me that I mixed my professional dominoes with my woodens. The only real saving grace for this setup is the fact that the second section worked perfectly, and it honestly had a pretty neat trick. But frankly that doesn't matter when the rest of the setup is atrocious! This video still makes me cringe watching it to this day, and it's too bad too, because some of the tricks in it were actually kinda neat, but they were ruined by fails and bad execution. I've always wished I could go back and redo the setup; improve the tricks and cleanliness, and make it have an actual decent topple. So... I did just that. This is my 2022 remaster of Suggested Setup 4, with cleaner tricks, better camera quality, more dominoes, less irritating music, and most importantly, no fails! Hope you enjoy :D
I've had an idea of doing something like this for a while, but never really got around to it. One day I wanted to build something, but didn't have any ideas, so I decided to come back to this old idea. I used most of the same central ideas and color combinations, but also threw in a few new additions to make the setup better. (Like using two shades of pink in the last section, although that may or may not be because I ran out of light pink haha) This was a fun one to build because I didn't have to think too hard about ideas, I could just use most of the original's base ideas and add a few new ideas for fun. In all honesty, I was not expecting a perfect topple; I expected to probably have one or two fails, but having the setup fall perfectly was such a nice surprise! Especially considering the video I was basing this off of had one of the worst falldowns in domino history xD Overall, I really like this setup. I really like the concept of taking a terrible video and making it good, and I think this setup utilizes this theme well. It's really cool to see just how much my style has grown over time, and I think that I have improved drastically over 4 years. I think I've definitely redeemed myself from the original SS4 :)
