German U-Turn On Heavy Weapons As US Vows To Move 'Heaven And Earth' To Arm Ukraine Against Putin

UK Ministry of Defence claims Russian forces are likely attempting to encircle Ukrainian forces in eastern Ukraine. Heavy fighting has been reported in south of Izium as forces try to advance towards Sloviansk and Kramatorsk. In a notable foreign policy shift, Germany will supply 50 Gepard anti-aircraft tanks to Ukraine.

Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for ceasefire during talks with Russian FM Sergey Lavrov in Moscow. US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin said the West will continue 'moving heaven and earth' to arm Ukrainian forces.
