It was the slap heard around the world at the Oscars. Chris Rock was onstage to present the Academy Award for Best Documentary when he launched into some banter, teasing some of the stars in the audience. But when he referred to Jada Pinkett Smith, who has alopecia and has been open about her hair loss, with a “G.I. Jane” joke, her husband, Will Smith, did not take kindly to it. He marched on stage and slapped Rock across the face, then warned him to “Keep my wife’s name out of your f—ing mouth.”
