I want to test out some existing techniques that I use with the addition of embossing. Photo stamping (stamping on a photo print) is one that I was curious about. If we can emboss on a photo, it could be a really fast and effective way to create a dramatic card. My first test in this video was interesting. For some reason, the clear embossing powder on black Versafine Clair usually results in a shiny very dark black embossed image. On photo paper, when the clear embossing powder melts, the dark black image of the trees turned to more of a 75% grey. They're still pretty nice but I'm not sure why it lightened unless the black became more translucent and we could see the white of the clouds coming through a little. Also, you have to be careful when heating photo paper. I did my heating from the back as I think a heat gun on the top could melt and bubble the surface as it was even doing it a little on the back. I'm going to say that it's probably better to do your embossed photo stamping on a different paper. Maybe print your photos on a card stock or something like that if you're going to incorporate embossing into it. Oh, I completely skewed my eagle impression! If you watch this video, you'll see how I remedy that. I wasn't going to redo this whole video, plus, white Brilliance pigment ink is our friend! It can cover up a lot.
4" x 6" cloud print on glossy photo paper. You can print a photo at home if you have a printer or get your photos made at a store that can print them. I got mine printed at Costco.
