As crazy as it sounds trains running backwards can (sometimes) be a regular occurrence. Sometimes when trains are put together, though rare they will run backwards as they can do all things a train can do regularly forwards as well. It's called running "Long Hood Forward". Though for mainline trains it is very uncommon for them to run for long distances. 10:14 UP 4310 later returns with it's train
10:48: Eventually 4310 makes it's way back to finish collecting ties
12:21 UP 4310 leaves to another destination to collect more ties
13:07 The sun begins to set as 4310 leaves it's train in the siding for the night.
13:50 The train gets tied down for the night
